fruit has DNA?

Wondering for days for a good experiment topic, caught up between human participant experiments or simple 'leaving something in a covered jar' experiment. I found a really good one, to see which solution can preserve fruit DNA the longest.I didn't even know fruit had DNA...

Not sure if I'm supposed to put this up, but currently pondering for an idea for my experiment. I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of plastic bag, breaking down, six months and environment. Still Indecisive though... I don't want to grow a plant like everyone else!
